About Me

Hey everyone!  My name is Kelsey Reitzloff and welcome to my blog where I will be researching the field of Zoology and sharing my findings with anyone who may be interested!  Below are some things about me that you may be interested to know as the author of this blog, along with my reasoning for choosing this field to research and what it will be about:
First of all, I just want to put it out there that currently entering into my freshman year of college at MSU, I have found that I am having a difficult time expressing exactly who I am, almost like an identity crisis if you will.  I realize that I do have specific traits and characteristics that describe me, but I just don't have it all figured out yet.
As a person, I am usually described as nice or kind.  I believe it is important to treat everyone with respect.  I am typically pretty quiet but really enjoy making people laugh when I get the chance.  I don't usually like to have attention drawn to me or talking about myself in great detail. Reading is one of my favorite pass times, I have a strong appreciation for music, and my friends and family are one of the most important things to me.  I also really love animals!  I am very interested in helping animals that are put into harms way because of us and feel that it is our responsibility to make the world a better place for all who live in it.  I hope to be able to incorporate this with the zoology field.
As a student, I have always been a hard worker and achieved good grades.  being successful in the things that I do is something that is very important to me so I always like to try my best.  As hard as I work at school, it is not exactly my favorite place in the world, so I hope to soon be out in the real world discovering new things for myself!
Writing this blog will be something very interesting as it is a totally new experience for me.  I am used to writing structured pieces, which I'm not half bad at, some topics being easier than others.  I'm hoping that This blog will give me some experience with creative freedom and practice writing for an audience because one day I would like to write a book, or a few, with some ideas I have had over the years.
Overall,  I feel that I have a good idea of the pieces that make up the puzzle of who I am, I just don't have the full picture yet.  I am hoping that my time here at MSU will help to reveal that picture to me and give me an idea of who I want to be and what I want to become in my future.  That is also where this blog comes in.  Since I have a general idea of what I want to do with my future, but have no idea how to execute it, this blog will give me tho opportunity to research my field of choice, Zoology, and discover if it is something I am interested in and the kinds of places I can go with it.  Over the next 10 weeks, I will be completing an array of entries all about what I have learned, read, studied, experienced, and even practiced with my field.  At the end of the 10 weeks I hope to have a better idea and understanding of what the Zoology field encompasses and what direction I want to take it in.  I hope you have just as much fun discovering things about this field as I will!
